Dynamic Duos Challenge #53

Happy Saturday PEEPS!! Are you ready for another Dynamic Duos challenge? 

I have to admit, I don't use Pacific Point much (well, ok, hardly AT ALL!) lol so this challenge was good for me - broke me out of my comfort zone and I think it turned out ok :) The theme for this week is also "KID-THEMED" so that was not a problem for me using my new set from Paper Smooches, Chubby Chums. The ric-rak background stamp is from My Favorite Things....

I wanted to go with a CAS layout - so started with Black as my base, added the white layer already stamped with the ric-rak and sentiments in Pacific Point. Fussy cut out my cutie cow and popped him up on some circles cut out with nesties. Added black pearls in the corner and walaaaaa!!!

For my card this week, I used one of 6 cards from a gorgeous kit I bought at a local scrapbook store a couple weeks ago. I fell in love with the colors, elements and embellishments of the kit and I'm also loving the versatility of it :) Hope you enjoy it...

This week, our challenge to you is "A Girl's Best Friend" - make your project girly ... and the twist, you ask?! It has to be FRIEND-related. This means it can be a girly scrapbook layout with pics of you and your friend(s); a sentiment on a card regarding friends; an image with 2 people (or person with an animal/pet), etc.

My card is part of a card kit that I found while shopping with my 2 best friends, Leanne and Tamie at a local scrapbook store....This particular card kit is made with the Bo Bunny line called Mama Razzi and I added the vellum sentiment for the "friends" part of this week's challenge!

Dynamic Duos #52 - Anniversary Week!

Welcome back! I hope your Saturday is treating you well...if you are looking for a fun, crafty challenge - hop on over to Dynamic Duos! The girls are celebrating their ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Congrats, ladies!! 

For the challenge this week, you get to go back over the year and choose your favorite duo and make a creation :)

Being new to the group at DD's, I was excited to go through all the older color duo's and pick a favorite...this is what I snagged right away:

I knew EXACTLY what stamp I was going to use for this combination (and I added in the Dessert Option of clouds as well)....I dug out my new Paper Smooches stamp set, Chubby Chums, and got to work:

4 CCC # 141 - Melissa's Funky Color Challenge

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday!!

Miss Melissa is our "hostess extraordinaire" this week and she is issuing the following COLOR challenge for you:

I must admit this color challenge really, really stretched me to the outer limits of my creativity! Way to go, Melissa! Leanne was here visiting a few weeks back and we did the challenge at the same time and let me tell ya, we BOTH were thinking "hmmmm....is this gonna turn out ok?" And alas, they turned out AWESOME! Thanks for making us step out of our crafty comfort zone, Mel!

I used an older CAS(E) this Sketch layout for my card and switched it up a bit for my stamp. I added the sentiment all the way down the main panel using Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler once again...love, love, love these stamps!!

Here's my card using Melissa's color combo and the sketch:

The Razzleberry is there in the button and the 4th YOU ROCK down from the top ;) Please give this color combo a try - it looks really good once they are all together on a project!! Cheers!!

"Dynamic" News!!! {DD#51}

Happy Saturday and welcome back crafty PEEPS! 

I am so excited to re-announce that I am now a Dynamic Duos "Dynamo!" HUGE cyber hugs and thanks go out to Lesley and Anne Marie for accepting my application to the uber-cool Dynamic Duos Design Team!! xoxoxox It's going to be so fun working along side such an amazing list of "Dynamos!!" :)

So...what is Dynamic Duos all about, you ask? Well....each week we will have two colours for you to use to create a card, scrapbook page, craft or digital project.  Only the two colours, otherwise known as "The Dynamic Duo", may be used for your project.  Neutrals such as black, white, vanilla, skin colours and kraft are also welcome. And sometimes, there are "dessert options" to go along with the color combo. 

Here is this weeks Duo:

This is the card I created using the wonderful colors and a new stamp I picked up at a LSS a couple weeks ago while shopping and hanging out with my 2 besties, Leanne and Tamie! It's from the Penny Black set called "fairy sweet." I stamped this cutie patootie onto some X-Press It card stock and colored him in with Copic Markers.

I found "the" perfect DSP scraps in my stash that went perfect with this combo...dry embossed the background Baja card stock with the polka dots embossing folder, stamped my sentiment and wa-laaaa!

For my card, I used a new-to-me line of stamps called Paper Smooches :) The uber cute owl is from Chubby Chums and the sentiment is from Sentiment Sampler ... sooooo fun to use!! I found this wonderful layout on Pinterest (life saver some days, it is!!!)

4 CCC# 139 {Felt}

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday! It is my turn to play "hostess-with-da-mostess" this week and so I decided to make us Chicks delve into our stash of FELT....

I had so much fun coloring this hilarious image/sentiment. Tamie and I went shopping at her LSS a while back, and we sat and colored for a whole evening - it was awesome to have images stamped, colored and ready to assemble a card with! For my felt, I used some of the Apple Green felt from My Favorite Things and made a flower with it; added the button with some twine - WALAAA! Done!

4 CCC #138 {Trees}

Happy 4 Crafty Chicks Thursday once again to all my crafty PEEPS out in Blogland...I sure hope your week has been a good one! We had another spring (winter) storm over the weekend and it delivered close to a foot of new snow but the temps this week have been nice, so it IS melting and drying up. Thank goodness! I am ready for spring to be here ;)

I took the liberty of using paper out of my stash to incorporate my tree this week; added a sentiment; used some dies to create the clouds, fence and grass, and WA-LAAA!! Done in about 5 mins ;) Gotta luv it when it happens that quick....

Yep, you got it!! FRUIT!! So, that can be fruit paper, fruit stamps, fruit charms....etc. Open up that imagination and let's see what ya got!! I dug through ALL my paper stash and came across some with pears and apples on it (ya, I know - there are veggies on there too, but shhhhh! don't tell anyone!)

4 CCC #136 - How "Charming!"

I just finished reading that here in central Alberta, we are scheduled for a snow storm tonight, Friday and Saturday. *SIGH!* Our snow is melting so nice, our country roads are dry enough for me to be running outside instead of the treadmill, the geese are all back, and the temps have been heavenly!!! I really, really, REALLY hope the weathermen are wrong LOL....

Alright, enough complaining about the weather, after all, this *is* Alberta, and I should be used to it by now...onto our challenge this week over at 4 Crafty Chicks:

Happy Thursday! Today is the beginning of another challenge week over at 4 Crafty Chicks :)

My apologies for my blog post being so late - my sister, Jackie, is here visiting along with my cutie-patootie nieces and nephew and they slept in my office/craft room last night...therefore, I totally forgot about my post as my computer was "outta sight, outta mind." 

I am the "hostess-with-the-mostess" over at 4 Crafty Chicks this week and I am "challenging" you all to anything "EASTER!" So...that can be anything that means/resembles Easter to you...cards, scrapbook layouts, 3D altered items, eggs, bunnies, Jesus, etc. I cannot wait to see what inspiration you come up with this week :D

Happy Thursday! The first day of Spring was yesterday, but lo and behold, we are in for another winter storm! UGH! I am getting tired of this white stuff and colder temps - we need it to warm up - training for a 10K is limited to indoors and I really, really want to get some outdoor running in before May! LOL....

Hello, hello!! I hope this post finds you all well out in BLOGLAND! Today is another challenge over at 4 Crafty Chicks and Melissa is our wonderful hostess this week! She is issuing the following challenge:

4CCC #133 - CAS

My card is fairly self explanatory! CLEAN AND SIMPLE all the way! Usually, I have a lot of trouble making clean-and-simple cards because I always feel that the large white space needs to be filled - with something - anything! LOL...but this time, I left it be.

I would love to make more of these cards using a whole plethora of colors and sentiments...can't you just imagine birthdays, anniversaries, friendship cards made with this layout?! LOVE IT!
